sump?? Should I have one?

I'm fairly new to this and I have a 10 gallon nano reef. I was J/W if I should have a sump for it and if so how do I go about setting it up (supplies) and what size container? Thanxx in advance for the advice :) Kayla

Red face Sump

Ok I have done quite a bit of research on sumps and I would like to build one...I have an empty 10 gallon tank that I want to use. It previously housed a beta and platty. I watched a youtube do it yourself sump and also looked @ a few other websites, but I don't want to have to drill a hole in the tank. Any ideas on how I should go about doing this and what type of equipment I will need water pump?? PVC?? I'm still a little confused..D I leave my protein skimmer in my DT or can I put it in the sump???? Thanxx for the advice in advance :)

were it me i would move skimmer and heater to the sump.... divide the sump up into at least two sections one for skimmer and one for return pump with a bubble trap (baffles) between... then you are good to go....
