I want to set up a small 20gal with just live rock for now. I want to make sure I can handle the every day things before I add fish and hopefully work up to fans, invertebrates, and etc..
I want to just add about 20 lbs of live rock and have a ten gallon underneath. I have magnum 350 for my freshwater and wanting to experiement with what I can do with canisters. Since the tank will be small, would the H.O.T. magnum work?
If I get an overflow from the 20 to the 10 and have the canister filter and pump water from the 10 gal, up to the 20 gal. SO I can keep the UV, skimmer and heaters in the 10 gal hidden.
I don't want to mess with pumps and sumps yet. When I know I'll be living somewhere for more than a year, I'll get into bigger marine tanks with all the fixtures, but now it's like..."Can I?" stage.
