I'm trying to build the tank so you won't see and unnatural equipment in the display tank or at least keep it to a minimum so I just bought a small in tank filter that will fit behind the wall of the nano so when i install it you won't be able to see it in the display tank. I modified it so it will become a chemical filter that will contain phosphate remover and carbon so i will be able to pull out all the pollutants and polish the water to a sparkle. This filter will be pretty efficient at removing pollutants because all the water passing thru the filter will contact the media that is chosen. I will still be able to keep the middle chamber as a refuge because the internal filter can fit into the first and because i wanted a filter that is easy to clean/replace, it took awhile to figure out how i wanted to accomplish this and to pick the right filter for the job. I will soon be going to Italy for 3 weeks on vacation and want to at least start the tank with just live rocks so when i get back it should be cycled. I will post a some pics of the mods to the filter that i did. I like the way it came out and the ease of removing/replacing all the carbon/phosphate remover and i especially love the price of $20
BTW when i go to Italy, I'm suppose to meet a hobbiest who is using LEDS to light his tank. I've been talking to him via email for over a year now and have seen his tank via web pics. His tank looks awesome and i will get some pictures of his and post them here on TFK., That is one of the many thing i love doing when i travel on vacation. I've seen many unbelieveable tanks from around europe, made many friends and gotten alot of info from them over a cup of coffee at their homes. stay tuned for some awesome pics from italy!
