A spoon?! Lol your crazy! Uh my fish. Have gotten stuck before I just wash my hands really good and get them out by hand. They will be scared for a bit when you put them back but they should recover. And clowns are beautiful fish at my petstore they have a sale 2 for 20 dollars and black clowns 2 for 30 I thought it was a good deal I don't know how much you payed

i've never seen "finding nemo" but yeah, i'm guessing my fish has!

bettalover, i tried using my hand. it's such a tiny/tight space to work, and pretty much impossible to shine a light down in the chamber and try to catch a fish at the same time. i can't wait to hear what my boss has to say when i tell him i'll be late to work today because i'm going fishing!!

these are both snowflake clowns, they were $50 each. it isn't even so much the cost, they are such personable little fish that i was sick at the thought of losing him all together. i have seen where people use pieces of gutter guard or needlepoint fabric and put a strip across the top at the water line to fashion a barrier. i'll be heading to **gasp** walmart today! i hate that place. every time i go there, i get shopping cart rage.

Try using Egg Crate over it, that should help some.
24 in. x 48 in. White Egg Crate Lighting Panel (5-Pack)-LP2448EGG-5 at The Home Depot

No I wasn't saying replace your fish ! I was saying I didn't know the average price of clowns. Good luck!

I'm not worried about the escaping Nemo.
I'm more concerned about Reefing Madness's rocking guts.
There again it just might be a bit of bloat.

for a quick fix, i cut a piece of plastic from one of those kitchen storage containers and taped it up. he is staying put! but, i still haven't been able to catch the goby. went through the same thing yesterday morning...tried, he disappeared into some abyss and i haven't seen him since. i don't know what else to do. he will probably die there :(
