Seriously have my eye on a 55g bowfront tank that I might be able to get hold of cheap....other than that, slowly upgrade down the road.

Get the fish in, some corals and anemone first. Guy from my LFS that I have got a lot of my freshwater supplies from and some for the saltwater has been kind enough to offer me some zoo frags when I am ready for them. He also has a bubbletip anemone for the clowns if I want it..$15 and its mine. Dont think he will miss it much as have seen his tank in person. It is a 240g although mainly coral and anemones, not many fish.

Same size as yours ReefingMadness but minus the fish you have, he has a Naso tang and some smaller fish and that's it.
He's got good taste LOL

Quick question.

I acquired a 15g tank at a garage sale yesterday for 4$, am wondering should I make this into the sump for the 29g tank...
I have a 29g sump almost ready to go, awaiting the arrival of the pump for it (company sent the wrong one and it was too powerful even with the ball valve almost closed)..

It is easy to remove the 29g sump if the 15g would be better suited...

Open to thoughts...thanks in advance.

Stick with the 29g sump, the biggest you can get in there is best. Your flow would have to be slowed down if you went to the 15g.

OK, so today while out garage sale shopping managed to get a a 55g in amazing condition for $12!, absolutely nothing wrong with it at all.

Now the question, apart from the fact I need a new light as my T5HO Quad from my 32g tank is not going to fit it...what would be the recommended way to do the transfer and cause minimal disruption.

I know I am probably going to need more Live Rock eventually and certainly some more live sand..but for now not possible...live sand yes, live rock, no. Lights already ordered a 36" T5H0 Quad.

Clownfish I was planning on adding to the display tank this weekend as they are done QT as of Friday, can out that on hold, it is the CUC in the tank at the moment.

Thanks for advice in advance

Put the stuff in rubber maid tubs, or a bunch of 5 gallon buckets. Fill tank 1/2 way-Sand-Live Rock-Filtering Equipment-then fill the rest of the tank. Tank will cloud up no matter how you do it, so don' tworry about that. Tank tansfers are crazy, you just kinda do one thing at a time

Excellent, that will be a project sometime next week as I have to say goodbye to my 180g Freshwater tank tomorrow and move it to its new home...not looking forward to that!

By the way I showed by friend who has the 240g tank, a link to yours, he is extremely jealous that you have so many Tangs in it...he really likes it though. He is already considering a massive 1000g DIY tank over this coming summer. He wants to get rid of some of his coral, most he is selling to the store where he works, but am earmarking some for myself, including a bubbletip anemone for the clowns eventually.

Thanks for the really helpful advice.

Nice Coraline Algae growing on the rocks and side of the tank.
Clownfish are very camera shy and hide everytime I go near the tank.

umm. The LR looks good, but the stuff on the sides of the glass is Cyano and Algae, I'd wipe it down.

Oh joy...other than wiping it down is there anything I can do to stop / reduce it?

I do have some of this if needed?

I will wipe it off tomorrow and do a vacuum as it is water change day. It looked really nice as well

The live Rock has some sort of mini clam thing on it, it is all opened up and looks like a clam shell...stupid question but could it actually be a small clam? It will be extremely hard to get a picture of it with any sort of clarity.
