Update

Calcium level is now at 420ppm. Everything else is going well apart from the pump for my sump died, no biggie as there is no chaeto / live sand in there yet just water.

One thing I did notice, is that all over my dry rock, I am seeing a very faint pink color developing...I cannot take a picture at the moment as it's lights out.
Should I be concerned with this? I have Red slime remover, freebie on one of my orders...on hand in case it turns out to be that.

Lights are on a full 8 hour photo period now. Fish are doing great, I saw them this afternoon but had very little time to shop so did not pick them up today..will hopefully time permitting get them Sunday.

I noticed as well, on the live rock in their tank (which I am getting for free), there is a small white fluffy "mini feather buster" like item...doesnt look like Aiptasia but it is very very small...I know Aiptasia is bad but dont want to NUKE it yet in case it turns out to be something else. How long would it take roughly before Aiptasia is large enough to know for sure?

Sounds like normal feather dusters that hitchhike on Live Rock, not an issue. The pink you are describing on the Live Rock sounds like the beginnings of Coralline Algae. Your off to a good start.

Ok, so havent done an update for a bit.

Tank is progressing nicely, Coraline Algae growing everywhere, looks nice. Have a Psychopathic snail who keeps ending up on the floor, tons of pods swimming everywhere. Did lose a hermit crab unless it swapped shells as I added some to the tank...there are 20 of the little guys happily going about their business and munching on algae wafers every second day.

All levels are spot on, havent changed for a few weeks now.

Now fishes are 1 week away from going into the tank, they are finally "home" and in quarantine at the minute with a few snails and a shrimp. Only have the 2 clownfish at the moment, but will be getting 2 firefish soon after the clowns are done QT.

One quick question I have, I bought a few extra pounds of live rock, that is currently curing in a pale, I didnt realize but I accidentally unplugged the heater, water got to 55F overnight. I have tested the water a few times and not getting any readings for ammonia / Nitrite. Should I go with the side of caution and wait before adding the rock to the tank.

It was fully cured live rock at the store, but it was sat in the bag with no saltwater other than the small amount of run off for nearly 36 hours. Again, could I have completely killed it in that time, I see no white areas to indicate dead.

The piece which had the feather duster on, the feather duster didnt make it, it died off. That went into the tank and is already getting coraline on it.

I also pinched the 750gph powerhead for my freshwater tank as I had one die on me, how essential will this be when the fish are added, I only have the CUC in the main tank and a 425gph powerhead at the moment.

Ended up going with TUNZE 9002 skimmer as my LFS had it on special for $89.99.

Thanks in advance again and sorry for the long post.

I'd wait on that Live Rock, it will probably start to show some die off here soon, at least thats my take on it, from how long you had it in a bag without saltwater. I may be wrong, but I'd wait.
As far as the powerhead thing, its not the fish that will mind, its the tank, and having dead spots that over a lil bit of time will cause a build up in the tank then water quality issues. But in the short term, no worries.

Thanks on the live rock, am in no rush to get this going fully by any means so can wait that out.

I tried adding the Maxijet 1200 in circulation mode into the tank and it created such a sandstorm. I only really use it for mixing salt as I need the 750gh more in my freshwater tank...flow is too much at 1200gph for the freshwater guys.

I think I will just pick another 750gph up when I go Saturday to pick up the salt mix I have on reserve and an order of food for my Cichlids.

Waiting for some Cheato and Culpera for the sump, they didnt have any left last time I went. Sump is running but not doing very much other than getting filled with pods and having Calcium added to it daily.

I added a big dose as my level was 360ppm now been stable at 420ppm for 2 weeks. Basically been adding it daily to keep that level, although I have to admit, havent seen how much is being used up. There is nothing as mentioned apart from the CUC in the main tank.

Really appreciate the help you have given me.

Seriously have my eye on a 55g bowfront tank that I might be able to get hold of cheap....other than that, slowly upgrade down the road.

Get the fish in, some corals and anemone first. Guy from my LFS that I have got a lot of my freshwater supplies from and some for the saltwater has been kind enough to offer me some zoo frags when I am ready for them. He also has a bubbletip anemone for the clowns if I want it..$15 and its mine. Dont think he will miss it much as have seen his tank in person. It is a 240g although mainly coral and anemones, not many fish.

Same size as yours ReefingMadness but minus the fish you have, he has a Naso tang and some smaller fish and that's it.
