I'm so lost on this thread. I keep going back trying to read again to figure out what system you have in place today and what size tank we are talking about. It gets frustrating. I think you need to start another thread, or post a signature on your posts listing your tank size & equipment.

Wait a minute... I just read again. Is the tank a 40 breeder? Or the sump? Maybe I just need sleep.

im glad this is only the ideas and not the list. i just wanted to make that clear once more for anyone reading this thread. the mandarin goby unfortunately wont work. excellent colors but wont survive long term in a small tank, even a very mature small tank as they eat copepods by the thousands.

the bangais in a trio will kill off the weakest of the three. if you are going with these fish you should also be sure to buy only tank raised specimens.
the pair of clowns and the goby/shrimp pair sounds like a good stocking list to me. remember if the tanks a 40 breeder and you have 50-60 pounds of live rock ( about how much there should be, if not aittle more ) then you must keep in mind that the rock and sand (esp. a deep sand bed) displace alot of water.
