Well, I haven't started yet. I'm waiting for it to warm up enough to put the fish in the 10 gallon tank now, into the pond. I can then use the 10 gallon for my nano fowlr! I have been looking at different places fr good deals on equipment, live rock and livestock.

My aquarium has 50 watts of lighting. It's not special HO or T5, just 2 normal T10 25 watt bulbs. Having said that, can I have any corals in the tank. I was mainly thinking of pulsing xenia, kenya trees and some ployps/zoas. What do you think?

BTW my sand bed will be only 1" because 4" would be half of the aquariums height! To make up for the lack of sand i will probably put more around 20 lbs of live rock rather than 10. Maybe even more :) But not too much, the fish need room to swim.

I have no clue about the lighting for the corals... At this point I don't think I will ever put any corals into the 10g in case I have to dose somebody with meds, KWIM? We are going to use it as our hospital/quarantine tank.

Same reason I went with 1" in my 10g. :) I have 14 lbs of rock in there now, + the protein skimmer.

Hey Dylan. I just started up a 10 gal fowlr and I've been looking through the posts trying to work out how I'm going to stock it. I'm currently waiting on nitrites to return to zero, but I wanted to know if you started on yours yet and have you come up with a final plan about how you want to stock it?

Hi Eyeyamda1, welcome to the forum.

Recently I have decided to instead of making my 10 gallon aquarium into a saltwater fowlr reef, I will keep the freshwater fish in it and start a saltwater 55 gallon or so. Larger tanks are more stable and I will be able to keep more fish in it. I was thinking a pair of clowns, a dwarf angel (not sure which one yet), 4-5 green chromis, a yasha goby-pistol shrimp pair, and maybe something else like a trio of bangai cardinals or a firefish. I will start another thread for that as soon as that gets started.

I wish I could do something like that. The only reason I'm doing 10 gal is cause I live in a dorm at school and can't have anything bigger. My cycle ended this week, so I got peppermint shrimp and a few blue leg hermit crabs. I'm planning to get a pair of clowns soon. Can't wait to have something swimming around the tank. Goodluck with your new tank when you start it, and post a link here if you make a new thread.
