If he is in one gall take the filter out. There is no point to keep the filter and its actually more bother for him. Just do 2-50% and 1-100% water changes a week. Can you keep the temperature in one gall tank? I am glad at least he is acting healthy. Sorry i feel bad that i think its your second betta and its sick. But think this way, you give him love and life more than he would get in the store. They get sick just like any pet is. We have to expect that too. He is happy with you:)

polity i have a question for you. Do you still have him in one gall tank? If you have him in one gall tank ? I am assuming you not since you have the filter. So he is in 10 gall? If you doing full water changes you don't need to use the filter.
If he is in 10 gall and you are using the filter then you need to do 50% water changes (n ot 25%) and make sure you vacuum under the gravel very well to get all debris out. You also need to swish/rinse the filter media weekly in the tank water.
But if you doing full water changes you don't need to use the filter. I hope he is doing good.

Heyo, y'all! thank you both for the responses. Shortly after my first post to you Sakura8 I did a full water change as you suggested Anhel123. I then conditioned the water and let the filter run for half an hour and essentially scooted Babar into the tank so as to keep any of the water in his glass from getting into the tank. He has acted normally throughout it all. his appetite has also been great before and after the move. sorry for any typos I'm quitting from my phone!

Hi polity. First, I apologize for not being on the forum for a day. Other things going on. o.O How is Babar's behavior? Is he acting normally? I agree with Anhel; if you haven't already done so, do a large water change. I think what has happened is Babar bumped his fin and caused the cysts to erupt. This frequently happens, especially with large cysts like the one Babar has. While nothing will treat the lymphocystis itself, what we want to do now is prevent any secondary bacterial infection from taking hold in the opened cysts. I would recommend using a product like API Stress Coat or Kordon Fish Protector and keeping an eye on the reddened part. If that red darkens or spreads, we will want to add an antibiotic to prevent infection from spreading. If you can, try to do water changes as often as possible to keep the water very clean.

Hey i actually ask Sakura for help too but she didn''t log on the forum for a few days. So hopefully she will today or tomorrow. I saw your mess in her visitor messages. I would really do a water change, actually as soon as possible a few 50% water changes about 1 hr apart. Do you still keep the filter ? And if you don't use the filter i would do full water change .
