Hi polity. First, I apologize for not being on the forum for a day. Other things going on. o.O How is Babar's behavior? Is he acting normally? I agree with Anhel; if you haven't already done so, do a large water change. I think what has happened is Babar bumped his fin and caused the cysts to erupt. This frequently happens, especially with large cysts like the one Babar has. While nothing will treat the lymphocystis itself, what we want to do now is prevent any secondary bacterial infection from taking hold in the opened cysts. I would recommend using a product like API Stress Coat or Kordon Fish Protector and keeping an eye on the reddened part. If that red darkens or spreads, we will want to add an antibiotic to prevent infection from spreading. If you can, try to do water changes as often as possible to keep the water very clean.
Babar's bump grew in size since the first time you diagnosed it as lymphocystis. This morning, I turned on his light and it appears as though the growth exploded.
I want to know what I should do now! I am thinking that his water is now full of that virus, is that OK or should I change it? Also, is there some treatment I should apply to his fin or the water? I feel so helpless because it's a virus and there is no medicine that can assist him.
Also, the white portion left on his lower fin has some red on it, it looks it blood or something? I'm not sure, it's light red.
Thank you, in advance, for your assistance in this matter. Please see my pictures to see the new condition of his top fin.
