I think he'll be ok. It will just take him some time to get used to you and his new home. I would put the pellets in and walk away. Come back in a few minutes and if they aren't eaten take them out. That's what I do.

Im fine just a little bored :) I was wondering if you could answer my question. Recently I just got a doubletail from petco 2 days ago. Always when i go up to his tank he runs away. He wont go to the top of the water to get food so i have to soak the food and push it down then he ate it. But is he just getting used to it or what? He has a cave and a plant and he is in a 2gallon. With no light filter or heater. No heater because he is in the heater room and its about 78 degrees in there. THe waters not cold. He looks like a baby because he is so small.
