Well I guess it would depend on how fast it's moving and how close the body it is..

My poor dragon girl had some fin damage from shipping, and now it looks like it's developing into fin rot and she also has a small hole in her fin, and her anal fin seems to be going transparent close to her body.
Do you think that treating this with 1tsp of AQ salt and some stress coat would work, or do I need something more? She is in a one gallon QT tank and I do about 50-80% water changes daily or every other day.
Edit: I'll try to get a good picture, too.

Well I added some filter media from my VTs tank so if it doesn't do anything after a while I will look into that. Thank you!

That's true.. I just meant it didn't seem to hurt my cycle or cause any random die off after.

What do you mean by safely, lol? Like, how could adding too much be dangerous in a tank that has no fish in it..

It would eventually die in the bottle. It has a limited shelf life but whatever it's suspended it allows it to live for a time. That's part of why I suggest to buy direct. You might not have as good results buying from other sources, depending on how long it's been on the shelf.

Directions are on the bottle.. like dosing meds or whatever. It also says you can just add the whole bottle.. I added the whole thing to my 10g and it clouded up badly but was gone by morning and so were all my nitrites. Your tank is like half my.. you could add half a bottle safely at least.

The filter was not in the ten gallon. Everything in the ten gallon is new except the tank itself. The filters are both new. I just needed the ten gallon because I have a heater for it and had to put the temporary tanks somewhere to heat them.

I will try that. How does it work, though? I would think the bacteria would die in a bottle, lol.

You realize that removing your filter from the 10g is going to crash your cycle right? All that bb that is built up in the gravel and other surfaces is going to die and cause an ammonia spike..

Every cycle is different. It is not abnormal to start gradual.. then will suddenly spike high, stick for a while, then randomly fall away overnight.

My last 10g I cycled out in like 2 weeks using Dr. Tim's One & Only Live Nitrifying Bacteria. It may help you. It shocked me at how well it worked. I would buy direct if you want to try it.
