Hi there, I am completely new to keeping fish and would really appreciate some advice on how to stock our aquarium. It is a Fluval Edge 46 litre (20+ US gallons I think) with a heater set to 24 degrees centigrade. Anyway, LFS tested the water yesterday and I came home with 4 cherry barbs who look happy enough this morning, phew! Was thinking of adding some neon tetras in another week or two and then hopefully two other slightly larger fish after that, maybe two female platies (non pregnant and two females shouldn't fight) or not? I would like a bit of colour but am very wary of mistakenly overstocking or causing death or distress to my fishy friends. The reason I was hoping for two identifiable larger fish is for my children, so they can own one each. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
