Banned just means someone has broken some forum rules and is being denied access to the forum. Depending on the severity of the rule breaking, it can be temporary (most bans we give out are 3 day bans) or permanent. Usually, the only people we ban permanently are trolls or spammers. No one except spammers will ever be banned without receiving at least two prior warnings about their behavior. The moderating team will always do their best to work through any problems with someone. :)

I've done a little research on Lifeguard, and from what I can gather its an alright medication, but I can't find much about its success treating Ich so I can't tell you for sure how effective it will be treating it.
However, I would suggest a different method of treating Ich anyway, using heat and Aquarium Salt; a method I know to be very effective and a little less stressful/harsh then any commercial medication.
If you are dealing with Ich, keep a VERY close eye on Peach. Its highly likely he will end up with it as well. Its an annoying little parasite that spreads very easily and quickly.

Its not always best to trust everything you read on the back of a commercial medication, just like its generally best to take the advice of most pet store employees with a grain of salt. A lot of time, its all about marketing. Always a good idea to do your research about any medication or disease treatment in general before you jump into using it and you should never use anything as a 'preventative'; that often does a lot more harm them good.

Now, are you POSITIVE he has ich? Does he look like hes been sprinkled with salt?

Its good that hes perking up a little bit, he could have just been a little stressed form the move and all. Does he have any sort of plant with him? Something to rest on/hide in?

What sort of treatment did you start and what exactly are you treating for? Are you positive he has Ich? Any chance you could send me over a picture?
If Peach is still doing well and showing no signs of illness, then it'd probably be best to let him be. No need to put him though the stress of treating him for something he may not even have.

Awesome, Kritter Keepers make great QTs. Just may want to rinse one really really well before using it if you do need to separate Merlin out of course. xD
So how is he? How are the spots looking? Have you posted anything in the Diseases and Emergencies section?

I'm afraid I have never used Lifeguard myself and I have heard very little about it, so I can't offer much advice based on any personal experience there.....but lets first figure out whats going on with little Merlin. In the meantime, I'll do a little research on the medication itself.

If there is something wrong with Merlin, it would be a good idea to separate him into a bare bottom heated QT for treatment. Generally something on the smaller side, like 1-2 gallons, is a little easier to treat/maintain, if you have something around that size.
If there is something wrong, and you do separate Merlin for treatment, just keep a very close eye on Peach.
