Thanks! He is doing well.. about to go into a 10 gallon solo for a week to beef up before breeding.

Keep trying.. you don't need a whole lot of the silicone luckily. Make sure to leave it drying 24hrs before placing what you make into the tank.
You could possibly get a small drinking glass or cup and silicone the glass rocks/pebbles to that.. and any open spaces, or a spot or two you're not happy with you can glue a silk flower on to cover it :)

Can also buy glass/ceramic decorations that is used as house decorations/candle holders and decorate them too.

I picked up some aquarium-safe silicone. My first attempt at 'building' a glass cave didn't work very well though. I used glass pebbles and siliconed them together, but I'm not happy with the results so far. I'm not giving up on the idea, though! I just need to give it more thought as how to put the pieces together better. :)

How's Kabuki? He's such a cool looking little guy. :)

Great! I like making/buying things.. I find glass statues or ceramic pots with glaze on it I will use them in tanks :) Fun to be creative with them. Can even use legos!
Thank you :) That's Kabuki... can't really see him for all his glory in the picture, still very young.. hoping to breed him in about a month or so!

I made a betta hammock. :) I used a push pin to make a hole in a suction cup, then pushed the end of a single silk ivy leaf into it. Within five minutes, my female was sitting on it. Yay! :) So I made one for my male VT, too - and he looked at me like I was crazy. LOL

The betta in your avatar is stunning! He's like a fluffy cloud of pink and red. Gorgeous! :)

Good luck! Just use your common sense when picking them out.. the hard part is finding the aquarium sealant - but you can still find some plants that do not have metal in the stems. Have fun!

Thank you for your comments about using silk plants! I'm going to give your suggestions a try.
