Thanks! I did a WC last night, and added 1/4 tsp Epsom salt and 1/4 tsp Aq salt to his 1 gal QT tank.... He started to have buoyancy issues. So at 1:30am, I did another full WC, and only used 1/2 tsp Epsom salt. At 3:30am, he was much happier, so I went to sleep. LOL....

My local Petsmart only had Maracyn in stock. I picked it up, even though I read it's only effective for gram-positive bacteria (rather than gram-negative). Over the weekend, I'll try to find someplace that has Maracyn 2 or Furan 2 in stock. Or I'll order it online....

The little guy was perkier today. He even attacked a pellet. Yay! (It's been a couple of days since he ate last.)

Hi. I wouldn't use AQ with bloat and buoyancy issues. It won't help and it can make it worse. Epsom salt can help though. Some people use as much as 1 tsp per gallon but I always use between 1/4-1/2tsp. You could start low and increase it if needed.

Hi Callistra, Is there any problem adding both 1/4 tsp Aq salt and 1/4 tsp Epsom salt (per gallon)? My guy floats sideways w/ just the Aq salt, and he hasn't pooped yesterday or today so he's probably constipated again. (He doesn't look bloated, at least.)

Thanks for the meds advice! I'll pick up one of those three antibiotics tomorrow morning. It looks like Petsmart only carries Maracyn Plus, but that was on your list.
