- Aquari-Sol is copper sulfate. That's not something that will work on a bacterial infection. It's used to treat parasites.... Does he have fuzzy white "cotton-like" growths? If so, this is either Columnaris or Saprolegnia.
Columnaris is a gram-negative bacterial infections. It's treated with a gram-negative antibiotic. I prefer the furan class for this. (API Furan 2, Hikari Bifuran or Jungle Fungus Clear.)
Saprolegnia grows only on dead/dying tissue. It's a mold/fungus. Look for thread or hair-like projections.
Most times, fuzzy white growth is due to Columnaris. (Unless there's a previous wound.)

Almost lost him last winter due to shock. .water temperature dropped. He recovered and then we were contaminated with snails..using live plants that this breed tolerates.
I'm gonna start using aquatic salt but I fear this would kill him.
I ♡ this lil guy. He has an awesome personality, I call him happy fins.
I'm looking for support, advice, and confidence.
