Good that he is acting his normal self-It might be either a tumor or fatty liver-both not uncommon with an aging Betta. Not a lot can be done other than keep them comfy and since he is acting fine-I wouldn't do anything other than what you have done for the past 3 years. It sounds like you have given him great care...

Hi I was told by another member to contact you for advice on my betta. I've had Bam for 3 years, he's in a 2 gallon tank, filtered with weekly water changes. He eats betta pellets. 3 or 4 a day. I noticed he recently got lumps on both sides, one bigger than the other. I thought it might be constipation so I fasted him for 3 days and then fed him the inside of a mashed up pea, which I read several places works for constipation, but now looking on here, people are saying peas are bad to feed them? Anyway, there was no change in the lumps so I tried 1 teaspoon of epsom salt in a gallon tank for 20 mins and then out him back in his tank with a water change. He still has these lumps. He is acting normally - no behavior changes. Any advice would be appreciated. The lumps are farther back on his body - not up front by his gills or anything.
