Hey, you have some pretty betta's! I was reading in the thread and I believe you are doing all you can! And its great seeing someone who cares so much for their fish! If you can afford it though I agree that a heater would be a great thing! They are only $15 at walmart and heat your size tank perfectly! Heat will just help ward of illness that fluctuating temps can cause. Anyways welcome to the forum and look forward to seeing more of you around!
MusicArtBettas, i am sorry if we are making you feel bad about your tank size. We are just trying to help others give their bettas better lives, and 2.5 gallons per betta is what we endorse...
3 water changes per week (2- 50% changes and 1- 100% change) should help keep your bettas healthy until you can upgrade.
I hope we didnt make you feel bad :( Thank you for your time..
Welcome to the forum! i noticed your "tank" is REALLY small....a betta should have at least 2 gallons to itself, preferably with a heater AND filter. Heaters ar needed for Betta because they come from Thailand, where their water has to be at a constant 80 degrees or they get lethargic and their bodily systems become weak. 5 gallons is the bare minimum IMO to divide if you would like a healthy and happy fish. Just because a fish could "survive" in a small "tank" dosent mean it will "thrive" and be happy. Please remember, it is like a person living in a closet for it whole life.
Please research and don't make your bettas suffer!!!
