thanks, I just did not what to be waiting around for weeks only to find out there was something else I should have done. I did stop by a LFS today that offered to give me some water from their tank, is this advisable??
There is no real set time as to when you start to see ammonia, it could take up to a week or more for it to start showing. Fishless cycling unless you are using media from an established tank, can take 6-8 weeks to complete.
Keeping monitoring the tank and you should start to see ammonia soon.
