Oh, thanks! Lebron waved his fin to say thanks! :3 I started... I have no clue... ._. Well, I know the last water change I did was the 1st one since I started cycling. I'm supposed to do my 2nd change this week today. I assume I started July 30. I'll ask my dad later, he's sleeping right now. Sorry that happened to you! There still might be some BB. You just gotta hope. ;) This is my 1st cycle, too. I'm just doing 2 changes per week. 1 50% gravel siphoning, and 1 just water. Good luck with your cycle! ~LTB

Thanks and no this is my first tank ever and its abit scary I must say. Trying not to worry over it to much but of course I do...lol Perseus was a gift and came along with a half gallon bowl so I ordered his 5 gallon on line cause I knew he didnt need to live in that little bowl for to long after reading all the posts here. I think I will try and get the Nutrafin and give it a try. I dont have any readings so far for Nitrite or Nitrate and only a small reading for ammonia and doing alot of small waters changes and a big 55 percent one at least once a week.

I always just post a link to my Youtube video's in the forum post. im not sure if there is a better way. all my cycles have had the fish in the tank lol cause i usually buy the fish first then go damn i have no where to put him. ive always added nutrafin cycle to the tank water. it seems to help even though some people say it doesn't. do you have any other tanks that are cycled? adding cycled media to the new tank's filter would jump start the cycle alot.

Any species is fine and you can use smaller amounts as a tonic to just slightly tan the water, for spawning..etc...-collect some oak leaf and save for later if needed.
It can be easier to cycle fishless without plants and safer fish in with plants...

My daughter got me a Betta fish for Mothers Day, he is a Blue Crowntail and I just love him. He lives in a 5 gallon tank and loves to explore and swim though his floating log. We named him Perseus since my daughter teaches Latin I wanted a greek name and this is what she came up with and seems to suit him just fine, he is a brave little guy and when I do water changes he stays close by and likes to watch. I love my Betta !
