Haha that's a good plan! I've wanted to be a paleontologist for as long as I can remember, but I love all types of history and artifacts so that's how I learned about archeology....but after I get married I want to either be a part time professor or work as a museum curator. Kind of like Indiana Jones hehehe (but without the life or death situations)

Oh that sounds like an interesting career. You'd also get to travel sometimes too! I wanted to be a doctor for the longest time, but I decided to marry one someday instead, hahaha

It is hard to get your name in the music world but I would love to teach music as a director as well. You never know what connections you might get in college though. :) Yet I'm taking a different rout and am hopefully going to become an archeologist that specializes in paleontology.*Science nerd*

I really want to be a film composer, but as that's a hard career to get into, I'm looking into teaching at a private high school, being a director.

Yeah, it took me a while to figure out where all the notes are located on each string. I'm still learning 4th and 7th position, but I have the rest figured out for violin, viola and cello. It still surprises me how we can learn and remember each note on an instrument with ease. With your music major in college, are you going to become a professional musician? Or something else?

Yeah, that makes sense. I get the flute thing though, because even when you DO figure it out, if you tighten your lips a bit, it's a completely new note. Ahh, flute. I guess we all have the same sort of issues, where you guys have to learn where a note is physically and can time from there, we have to learn how to adjust our lips and time from there. I can't wait for college though, I'm going into a music major and I want to learn strings as soon as possible!

Haha I think everyone has a personal preference to what they feel works for them. I have asthma so I think that plays a factor in why I can't play wind instruments. I think winds and strings have a lot of similarities though, not just what clef you play in. Like how wind players use their lips, string players use our bows. It changes how the song will sound. But their are A LOT of differences....on a flute I can't figure out which keys are the right ones and which keys don't move at all. xD

Yeah, I'm in marching band. There're three drum majors, two are assistants (I'm one) so I get to march with my mellophone and conduct at certain times. It's pretty draining, but the conducting is the easy part: just give a beat and they follow, haha. I find wind instruments easier, you just sort of adujust your lips and the fingerings are easy... Strings though! It's like there're a million different notes so close together and it's hard enough to hold the instrument... Haha.

Hello fellow musician! One of my best friends plays the clarinet and bass clarinet and I wish for the life of me I could figure out how to blow into a wind instrument. Since you are a drum major, are you in a marching band or something similar? I find it amazing that people can lead a whole group of people like that. I'm not so good at conducting...

I'd like to say hi and YAY for more musicians. I play clarinet, bass clarinet, mellophone and French horn, but I reeeealy want to play strings. I'm a drum major, so I think it's really cool to see another first chair player around, too. Well... HI
