80F. I don't see anything wrong. I check at him and he is always in a deep sleep or something. I never see him swimming around anymore. ): Lately I have been seeing him sleep sideways. Idk...is that a bad sign?

Okay, I have a question reguarding my CT (sorry for bothering you.) He suddenly started to act lethargic. His ammonia and ph levels are fine. He has clamped fins and he is so lethargic it looks like he's dead sometimes. I always have to disturb the water to see if he's alive. Any ideas of what this might be? Thank you!

Birth defects related to genetic are not uncommon-or deformities related to husbandry at the fish farm. You can also have damage from injuries and/or poor water quality that result in scar tissue.
When you get your test kit-be sure and do a full test on your source water-both with and without the normal additives you use. This will help tell you if anything is in your source water and if additives cause skewed readings.

Neat, having the test kit and learning about your water is always a good thing...

You don't always see the bloom-sometimes you can have higher levels of dissolved oxygen in the water usually from an aerator on the faucet itself that can cause bacteria to be easily seen in the water column
