    The bacteria are sticky little buggers, I don't think they'll get sucked out.

    But wouldnt the siphon take a bunch of bacteria out of the gravel? Whether its during a water change or not?

    No, it doesn't die. The bacteria would just be weak after the siphoning. That's why you shouldn't really do that during water changes.

    Hey LTB, i was just reading the thread about a bare bottom tank and i was wondering.... Doesnt the BB in the substrate get ruined every time i use a gravel siphon?

    Just give the heater 24 hours and if it's up to the correct temp by then it's just fine :)
