No, it doesn't die. The bacteria would just be weak after the siphoning. That's why you shouldn't really do that during water changes.

Hey LTB, i was just reading the thread about a bare bottom tank and i was wondering.... Doesnt the BB in the substrate get ruined every time i use a gravel siphon?

Just give the heater 24 hours and if it's up to the correct temp by then it's just fine :)

Finnfinn, I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that my Hydor THEO came to day! I was so excited! And here's the bad news... The bad news is that it works partially. It just offs after a short while. I don't have a filter or an aerator to keep the water going. Will it still work? I want the water to be warm so Lebron could enjoy his home more. ~LTB

Hey LTB! Yes, NLS is still better because omega one has wheat gluten. Wheat gluten is a cheap filler used in pet foods to boost the protein. It is the concentrated protein extracted from wheat. So the reason omega has a higher protein content is the wheat gluten. Therefore NLS has higher quality protein because it is all from the meat/(there are no protein fillers in NLS). It is actually better for your fish to have a little bit less protein if it is meat protein rather than plant protein . 37% is plenty, not to mention it's just the minimum, so it might have more than that.

Hey Finnfinn, it's LTB. When my NLS arrived, I checked the analysis. It said that the Protein is 37%. Is it still the best? I checked Omega One and the analysis is 42%. Is NLS still a good food? Besides this, everything seems to be perfect. The Ingredients, everything.
