Thank you everyone for you care and concern for our Charlie! After more than a month since our 1st thread, Charlie's fight for life ended on Sunday, May 19th.
We thought he was going to pull through. In the last 2 weeks he was swimming, eating and enjoying his "normal" day. But, in the last 3 days; his color faded and he started to hang in the tank just keeping his nose out of the water, body down.
If anyone has a Betta with silvery /grey oval patches, be careful how you treat. Most treatments will not work and will start other illnesses instead. If anyone finds out what this type of illness is, let me know. We buried our Charlie with gauze, in a box, and gave him a headstone. Again, thanks for all those who helped us through this!
My Betta Is very Sick: He has silvery patches, not swimming, not eating. Floats from log, to leaf getting worse each day. Charlie is in a 1.7 gallon tank and has a heater. He is with us 1 year and usually ate 4 pellets, 2x a day. I use aquarium salt and have recently tried Melafix since someone suggested cotton mouth. But that's not what it is and I think it made it worse. I ran out today and bought Erythromycin. I don't know what else to do. Charlie is my only betta fish, and my 12 yr old son's pride and joy. What else could it be??
