There are 800 - 1,000 micron ones.. Brineshrimpdirect. com has some for future reference if need be. Your guy should still eat them.. I feed some of my larger adults NLS Grow formula which is very tiny.

The ones you got are rather small, why I recommended the larger ones.. but if you couldn't find them, then the ones you have should be fine.

Honestly, I don't count how much I give of food to any of my fish. I recommend numbers to people to make sure they don't over feed (and to not be judged). But I, along with many people who have raised/bred for decades just gets the feeling how much to feed each betta.

Just put a pinch in and see how it goes.. less next time if too much, or more if not enough, etc. You will be able to tell what your betta likes after watching him eat a few times.

Well...on average and IMO/E-the one that can tolerate strong filtration in the beginning might have issue on the long term. That said, they are all different in their tolerance both short and long term-especially with the Long fin males. So many factors at play that can change. A lot of it is based on- judgement call from observation when dealing with live animals.

IMO/E- Filters are optional for this species and so is the nitrogen cycle.
Regardless if the tank is filtered and has an established nitrogen cycle-You sill need to make water changes and while the nitrogen cycle can help maintain water quality longer between water changes-still gotta make water changes in a closed system.
When keeping other species of fish-especially community tanks-the nitrogen cycle and proper filtration are very important and recommended.
Lots of different ways to keep this species and others-as well as lots of opinions based on personal experience, preference etc...not really a right or wrong per se' in some cases.
