Yay! The ammonia went from .5ppm to .25ppm in a few days without me doing anything! Plus the nitrates have risen to a little above 5ppm! Yayyyy!!!

    Yes. I have 5 neon tetras in there. It's a 10g.

Remind me...what are you using for an ammonia source. Is that fish-in?

Don't remember the exact sell by date, but it was sometime in 2015. I added it friday afternoon, came back and checked the prams on sunday afternoon. The ammonia was the same as when I left, no nitrite as usual, and the nitrates were a little higher. So I think it is staring to work! I just gotta give it some more time and keep checking, but that sounds promising to me...

What's the sell-by date on the TSS? Let me know how it works for you.

No, There is no gravel in my betta tank and it has a sponge filter so I don't want to cut a piece off of it. Guess what though, I just bought some safestart today lol. Found a bottle for five bucks. Im going to put it in tomorrow.

By the way, I lost one of my tetras today :(. The filter got him. I added prefilter sponges on both filters so that doesn't happen again...

Am I missing something? I thought you had seeded gravel and/or media.

Well...I will just see what happens...if it doesn't do a thing at all, I will probably just end up getting safestart....

Well, Stability is way better than Nutrafin Cycle. It's the one professional aquarist Carl Strhmeyer recommends. But his article was written before BioSpira morphed into Safestart and Dr Tim's O&O, and all the rest came onto the market.

Well...I didn't want to wait any longer so I bought some. I hope it works because I am not spending any more money on bacteria.
