- Sounds like your dad is a huge Spain fan ;) You'd be surprised, lots of folks here are Spain supporters even if they're French. It's kind of awkward, yes, but you get used to it after a while. After the World Cup, we had guys speeding down the Champs-Élysées at 100mph in Ferraris, waving the Spanish flag whilst standing up in their cars, screaming "BARÇA!". And of course, we have a lot of Spanish expats as well. I guess it's difficult not to love the best team in the world.
- haha oh gosh that so funny and awkward! Why are your neighbors Spain fans LOL My dad was pretty upset He called me saying why did you tell me to watch that game is was terrible you said it was good... and I was jut like I never said it was good I said it was unbelievable!
- Funnily enough, many supporters of the French team (my boyfriend included) didn't bother watching the game here because they were 100% sure France would be completely trounced by Spain. You should have heard the angry yelling from next door - they had a massive Spanish flag hanging from their balcony.
- To be completely honest, I only watch from time to time, but living here, it's impossible not to follow football at least a little because it's France's "national sport" (I'm an expat but integrated pretty well as I'm beginning to lose my English and watch football, haha). I watched the very end of the match...that last-second goal was something. I'm astonished we managed to get a tie with Spain! The whole neighbourhood is still talking about it :) Did you get to see the entire game?
