:D Like I said before, when a kitty is miserable, everyone around him is too. When he's happy, so is everyone else. Such are kitties. Haha, he snores too? One of mine does, so loud! I can hear her snoring even with earplugs in. I'm really glad to hear he even feels like purring again. :)

    Merry Christmas Sakura!

Finally Jack is doing better! I'm super relieved. His vet is supposed to check in with us tomorrow and see if we need to come back in. He last threw up around 5 in the morning, but by 9 (when I got up) he seemed to have a little of the "light" back in his eyes. He's been gaining back his strength and his appetite's been good. His momma will sleep better tonight. I'm still waiting on his labs before I really relax (this time). I felt so bad for him and he slept on my chest for a bit tonight, purring and snoring the whole time.

Thanks for caring about him! I love him so much and hope to hang onto him for a few more years.

I hope you had a great Christmas and that all the animals are well! My fish (thankfully) haven't caused me any problems for a few days so that I could take car of Jack-it's like they knew ;)

    Take care!

I'm so glad Jack is feeling better! Yay! I hope he's on the road to a fast recovery, the poor guy. He must've felt so miserable when he was throwing up. *scratches kitty's chin*

    Merry Christmas, Jenn!

My hospital/nursery is in the bathroom too! Right now it has 8 occupants. I'm happy to hear that your new guys are adjusting-yeah :) Poor Crichton :( I have yet to encounter a worm situation from a rescue, but I'm sure it'll happen one day. It sounds like you're both trying so hard, it'd be sad to lose him after all of this. My fingers are crossed that he turns the corner and can recover, but I know the pineconing isn't a good thing (on top of everything else).

Thanks! Mags is hanging on. I think I saw a bit of new growth today! She loves resting on her little leaf. I'm hoping she's not a tail biter since the new growth is a bit ragged looking. If she was not getting getting enough food before, she may have done that (or anxiety/stress). I'm trying to keep her on a good feeding schedule without giving her too much.

I hope your babies get/stay healthy! I'll be thinking good thoughts for Crichton.

    Merry Christmas-at least officially here-CST!

He's such a poor pathetic guy right now. No more vomiting in over 3 hours, so that's an improvement. But he's so lethargic that he won't get out of my/his bed. He's slept with me every night since I've had him. If I ever get married, my husband would just have to learn how to deal ;) I have waterproof pads down and towels so that my blankets don't get messed from his leaky back end. He didn't even bother to get up and pee, just laid there in it. He never does that. Now I have to figure out how to get him up without upsetting him and change things out so it's less gross. The things we do for our babies! I was concerned he was dehydrated from before and I haven't seen him drink anything since this morning, but that was a decent amount of pee, so I'm less worried about that. If he's not better tomorrow, we may end up in the animal ER. We have a good one, just pricey! If not, his vet is open Monday. I won't wait if it's an emergency & pay the extra-I call him my "first born".

I bet Rodgers will be happy when I can finally move him out of the bathroom. He's stuck in a corner where it's kind of hard to see him. But he's getting more curious about his surroundings so that's good.

Crichton is one of three bettas I have who got attacked by camallanus worms. I already lost one to those wretched things. The very hard to find medicine worked on Riceball but not Crichton and now on top of still having worms (after almost a month), he's got fin rot and some pineconing. He's in Maracyn II so that seems to help the fin rot but he hasn't eaten for over a week. :( When I take him out for his water change, I hold him in my hand and his tail leaves big black marks on my hand because the rot is so bad.

    How's Mags doing? She's such a cutie!

Well, that's Crichton's story. Kind of reads like a Shakespeare drama. :p

I hope Fat Jack feels better soon and gets back on all four feet very fast.

Merry Christmas to you as well. :)

Poor Fat Jack. :( Reminds me of a Christmas we had about three years ago when we rescued our neighbor's cat. We never did figure out what exactly was wrong with him but he had the vomitting, the diarrhea, the works too. It started before Thanksgiving and he didn't stop until well after New Year's. And sick kitties look so miserable and forlorn! I hope Fat Jack's vomiting is a reaction to the high dose of meds. He's such a handsome cat. I'm so glad he found a good home with someone who takes such good care of him and takes him to the vet. That was the problem with our neighbor's cat. They couldn't even begin to afford the vet bills and if we hadn't stepped in, they were going to just euthanize him. Now he's the most energetic cat of all. :)

So far so good with the new guys. Rodgers is perking up a little more and Hammerstein flares at anyone.

    Hi Sakura!

Sorry I haven't replied sooner. My cat, Jack, is very sick. He's almost 12 and has had some serious health problems pretty much his entire life. Another rescue ;) One of my first actually. We were at the vet this morning, he does have a UTI. But he's had some complications and they had to draw blood work on him and give him a high dose injection of antibiotics and IV fluids. Since he's been home, it's been non-stop vomiting. And he's crying in pain at times, breaks my heart-poor baby.

How are your newbies today? Come to think of it, I've never gotten to pick the tail either due to rescues. I "lucked" out with the fact that Ty was a King that was in bad shape. 16 is a lot! I'm at 14 and am feeling the pressure. I'm sure you feel the same in that you want to make sure they all get the best care. Good luck with them & keep me posted!

What's Crichton's story? I'll keep my fingers crossed that he holds on and continues to fight hard :)

    Merry Christmas!

Yeah, can you believe it? Hammerstein is my first plakat. :) Because nearly all my bettas are rescues, I usually don't get to pick the tail and since most sick bettas are VTs, that's what I've ended up with. I hate the idea of breaking up the pair too but I'm not sure I can keep 16. Plus, Tisia might give me one of her spawn . . . I need more space. Anyway, Hammerstein is actually the first healthy betta I've bought since I got my last girl about four months ago.

I guess part of it depends on Crichton. He's still battling his various illnesses but even though he's a fighter, I have this feeling that ultimately, I'm going to lose him.

    Hi!

I love NYC! One of my favorite places to visit! Your weekend sounds a lot like mine, taking care of the fish. I've been doing that all day today and taking pics and posting them. I have to make a run to the pet store for another heater. I'm hoping I don't see any more babies or sick adults in dire need, but if I do, I may have another friend when I get home.

My holiday plans are boring. I have a really small family and other than having dinner with my mom, sister and my nephews, I probably won't do much else. I'll try and see my step-mom and youngest sister after that sometime. It'll be hard since this is the first Christmas since we lost my dad in April.

Gotta run-will be back on later! Hope you're having a good day!

    Jenn
