Thanks again! I always feel there is more I could/should do. Type A all the way! I'm taking this competitive season off from skating to focus on school. I need to maintain a 4.0 GPA. I'll still skate, just not compete this year (which will be weird). I still have dance 4 days a week, school, part-time work & of course the bettas. I went in today just to get the Prime (thanks-BTW) and refill Jack's litter container. I came home with 3 more bettas! 2 babies and 1 adult male VT with SBD problems. What was I thinking? They were all in nasty water (even the babies). Only 2 of them left. I'm feeling slightly better today, so let's hope I survive this week and being 30!

Thanks! I love FB (sometimes) since I have a lot of friends and contacts that are out of state. Nice to be able to keep up with my friends in Ann Arbor when I'm not there. I missed my January trip since Jack was sick & now I am sick.

I can't wait to hear what his name will be! All legs for sure! I can't wait to see Z's foal too. I thought Rachel's foal would be a boy & I'm kind of hoping for a filly for Z. Only time will tell. It would be interesting to have 4 sets of half siblings (if that happens) with such great sires & dams.

It's so hard to imagine those two courageous, youthful girls as mamas. Sounds like the little guy is early. Haha, should be interesting because they say next year, Rachel will be bred to Bernardini. Wonder if Zenny will be bred to Curlin then.

Girl, I don't know how you can think you could accomplish more. You dance, you skate, you're in school, you rescue baby bettas. Seriously, you've done so much! I'm envious of you, honestly I am. You're awesome!

Thanks! 30 sounds scary. Like I should have accomplished more in my life by now. But, I'm in school working my butt off to finish with a good degree. The pneumonia has been making me feel old the past week. I missed the joint birthday party last night, so I'm sure there will be a makeup. Is Seachem Prime available in stores? If not, Amazon overnight. I made it through 5 smaller tank changes 2 nights ago and the babies were due yesterday. I need to do their tanks tonight. At least I don't have school tomorrow. Thanks for the birthday wishes & get well wishes. I'm going to need them to get through this :)

All this talk about Rachel Alexandra & I was surprised to hear that she had her foal today! Beautiful baby-looks like her (kind of). Similar star. I don't know if you want to know the sex, so for now I'll leave that out. I saw a picture on Facebook. I think she was overraced her 3 year old season too. If they would have rested her, she could have made a nice comeback. I guess now, she'll be a good mommy! I knew Z had a miscarriage after her first breeding with Bernardini, so her baby will be a little younger.

I feel like Rachel Alexandra overraced her 3 year old season and just needed some extra time to come back. She had a really hard campaign that year, racing against the boys so many times.

Happy birthday! Had my 30th last year and I survived, so you will too. :3 But that really stinks you have pneumonia. I know what you mean about help with the fishies. I have a lil old cold and I feel like I need help but you must be having a hard time with pneumonia. If you can't quite get to a few tanks, try putting some drops of Seachem Prime in there to neutralize the ammonia. That should tide them over until you can get to them. I hope you feel better soon.

It makes me nervous too. Almost before any race, I'm holding my breath that there aren't any breakdowns. Seen too many. I feel like Rachel Alexandra maybe could have raced for a little longer. She didn't have a great season before they retired her, but maybe it was just a bad season. At least Zenyatta got to race for a decent amount of time. That would be adorable if her foal was born around your birthday! My 30th is tomorrow-yuck & I have pneumonia-double yuck. This is when it would be nice to have some help with the fish. Hard for me to clean 16 tanks or do anything at all. Still making it to class thankfully.

*fist pump* All right! I can't wait to see her race again. Even though it always makes me nervous when they run, I hate it when the owner decides to cut short a promising career in favor of the more lucrative breeding business. And I'm so excited about the foals. If all goes well, Zenny's foal could be born on or near my birthday in March. :3

Yes!! According to both her owner & trainer, she will race in the 2012 season. May even go up against males again. I'm excited to see what she accomplishes this year. And I'm excited to see Rachel Alexandra & Zenyatta's foals. They'll be so cute :)

Have you heard if they plan to retire her or let her race another year?
