Hmmm, rotala is back in stock, gonna go with that instead, not sure what I will use in the center. Maybe use rotala in the center and have the reineckii and ludwigia still on the sides.

Salt water takes a lot though, you also need to mix salt perfectly or your fish can suffer. Fish only with live rock or FOWLR can actually look quite nice.

Yeah those look nice. I may get the Bright K series, not sure though. I don't need them all at once though so it will save me some money or could.

I'm now trying to figure out if a planted freshwater tank is more expensive or cheaper than a fish only saltwater tank. o.O I always steered away from saltwater thinking, "Oh, too hard, too expensive." Now I wonder.

Oh, the nesaea pedicelleta. I sent you some of that earlier so you should be familiar with its growing habits. I bet it totally takes off for you under that kind of setup.

Looks like I want to get all three of Seachem's macros then. I may get AquaVitro instead. I got their Mineralize when I ran out of Equilibrium. So far, so good.

According to a plant book I have, 2-2.25 watts per gallon is medium to bright light. Of course, every book is different on the exact wattage but mostly, 2 watts is medium so that seems about right. And the fixture is 48w over a 20gal long.

So should I get Flourish Trace too or just get a potassium supplement?

    That scape sounds awesome!

o.O I never knew plants were so complicated. Okay, what I have does qualify as medium light but it's resting just above the tank over the glass canopy. Would love to remove the canopy but the loaches jump. All right. So I'm dosing Flourish at least once a week, trying to up that to twice. Substrate is plain old sand so no nutrients there. Have you heard anything about ADA Green Brighty Special Lights? It's supposed to be a fert for stem plants.

What would you say is more important for good plant growth: good substrate or C02? And I have a question. If you buy dwarf hairgrass or something like that on a mat, does the hairgrass grow and spread off the mat or do I have to buy enough mats to cover the bottom of the tank?

You'e right, that doesn't make any sense about Fluval. But you know, their plant products are a little weird. Like, their planted tank kit. A lot of people have noticed that the light that is included with it is hardly bright enough for java moss let alone anything else. How is that a "complete" planted tank kit for plant enthusiasts?!?

I do want to eventually switch my 20gal to a better substrate but I'm not sure if I want to use plant substrate or just add a layer of laterite or something like that. I've been looking at Giovanni's Plant Nutrition Starter by Ocean Nutrition.

Where are you getting the RO water? Are you getting an RO unit too? I wonder, do you have to remineralize RO water even if you are using a half and half mixture?

I've never heard of the Azoo product. Where did you find it?

I got them from a member on plantedtank.net, username nilocg. He has great product and it is very well priced... I mixed up enough ferts in water to last me about 4 months and it barely made a dent in how much I got lol

All right, score! That's awesome you were able to find almost all of them. :) Dose iron if you get pygmy swords. Otherwise the leaves turn yellow.
