If it is eggy poo, she may not be hungry because she'll have eaten her eggs and that''s a lot of protein. Often, when they have parasites, they still eat because they're starving. The parasite gets all the nutrients so they are always hungry.

Definitely put her in 1 tsp of epsom salt per gallon. Eggy poo or parasites, it will help. If she is still not eating after a few days, we can try her in General Cure.

Hmm. Katana looks like a girl to me, now that I've seen the pic. It can be so hard to tell with females, especially tiny ones. Parasite poo is usually more white than eggy poo and more stringy. Eggy poo is off-white, yellowish and while it can be stringy, it's kind of a thick string. If that makes sense.

When (s)he flares, does (s)he have a beard?

I got my 55 and my 29 gallons set up. Wow, teeny shrimp. That was a great idea to put them in the hospital tank. Are they with Alala or did she heal up and go into the sorority? Or do I totally have the names wrong?

Hmm. I know drsfostersmith.com has something called a pest trap that you can use to catch snails but I don't know if it would work for shrimp. They do kick pretty hard when you grab them and if you aren't ready for it, they can kick right out of your hand. Backwards though, it's the only way they go when they try to escape. o.O

If you need a 10g for shrimp, I've got spares that I'm putting on craigslist. I can look into how much it would cost to ship it since there's a UPS store right behind my house.

Did you maybe have a shrimp die in there somewhere? That could drive the ammonia up. Otherwise, that is odd because it's the nitrates that should be high, not the ammonia. :/

If you're really worried about Katana eating them, I'd probably add them to the sorority. At least they'll have lots of plants and you can put the moss in there with them. I don't think the ghosties will eat them. I would think even a young RCS would be bigger than a baby ghostie and since they only eat baby shrimp, my hope is they'll leave the RCS alone.

Does Katana seem more aggressive-like? Or does he seem like he might leave them alone?
