Haha, yeah, the fish are the cheapest part about fishkeeping. I also have a problem with snails eating my plants. They're tiny, tiny pond snail babies and I can't get rid of them! I find them on the plant leaves like little pimples and all over the tank walls. I even got assassin snails but the dumb things died within days.

I think someone once said to cut the toenail straight across and not in a curve or something like that. I dunno, it doesn't matter how I cut them, I still get ingrown ones occasionally. Sounds painful though. o.O

Ooh, let me know how the DIY C02 goes so I can decide if I want to try it or not.

It sounds like you have an ingrown toenail? See if you can get a thin but sturdy nail file, a metal kind with a point. If you push that under the nail and kind of pry it up out of the skin, sometimes that's enough to get it to grow over the skin like it's supposed to. Unless it's really ingrown by now. If it's reaally ingrown, then it probably would have to be surgically cut out of the skin.

I still have my wisdom teeth. Not everyone has to have theirs removed. I think my mom still has hers too. It all depends on how they come in. Of course, to be fair, my dentist nags me about getting mine out every time I see him. >.<

Oh ow. Reminds me of the time my brother dropped a marble slab on his toe. He had to have the nail removed too. He had the lady at my mom's nail salon do it. All the women were giggling and taking pictures of him. But his nail really was gross. It turned all black. o.O I hope your toe is going to be okay during your trip.

I may try that. It all depends on what wins out: laziness or being poor. XD

That's a good idea to try DIY C02. I'll head off to youtube and see what I can find.

Someone told me Petco was having the $ a gallon sale again? I bet a 10gal shrimp tank would look awesome. Pics if you get it set up.

Yeah, I tried spot-treating with hydrogen peroxide but it killed some of my plants. Plus pond snails are eating my plants but they're babies and I can't find them. I just know they're eating because I see half-eaten leaves every morning. I even got assassin snails but the crazy things up and died two days after I put them in.

I think someone told me shrimp have really short lifespans so maybe it died of old age?

My LFS told me the only way to get rid of my black brush algae is to try C02 so I may have to get a system soon. $150, he said. -___- The plants are more expensive than the fish, with all the care they want.
