Junior. That's a good year. A lot of the fun of being a senior without the stress. Yay for lots of shrimp! This is going to be a pretty awesome tank, I'm sure.
That's great you can get the new bed, even though I'm sorry you don't have your own room. Way to maximize on space!
You're a . . . senior now? No. Junior, right? If you went to a local JC first, then you might be able to live at home, save some money, and still have your fish.
I hope your mom says yes. A 5.5gal isn't that big and shrimp are pretty easy maintenance if they like your parameters.
Wait, does this mean you've got your own room now?
I love all mosses and they're all easy to tie to things. I do think they need some C02 in some form to take off though. Fissidens fontanus does really well tied to plants and supposedly shrimp love it. You can get some off aquabid.
Java moss is probably the cheapest moss, though. You can also get moss balls, cut them up and tie those around wood.
The light is for the plants, right? I mean, a pretty good shrimp colony can live in a 5.5gal. The hard part is getting the plants to grow but if you can find a good clip-on light, that shouldn't be a problem. Would you put RCS or amano in there? Or ghost shrimp?
Oh yeah. I remember. Community service is like a CA requirement. I can't even remember what I did for my hours. I think I volunteered in the school library but then again, maybe that was a job. Can't believe I'm this forgetful already.
I want clown loaches so bad but I worry about where to put them when they grow up. I'll try lettuce again. I can just see dozens of little white baby snails all along the glass. UGH.
Aw, I'm sorry about the tank. I hope you can talk your mom into it.
