Good low/mod light plants that are easy....naja grass, water wisteria, sags, vals, crypts, moss, ferns, rotala, ludwigia, hygrophilias....adding floating plants like water lettuce are also helpful...when you look for plants-remember some are grown at the nursery with the leaf out of water and it takes time for the plant to replace these with their underwater leaf growth-often the plant isn't dead-its just changing to live underwater....Photoperiod is also important-the plants needs not just the correct color temp but lights on long enough to grow and not be tricked into thinking its a season change and complete life cycle.
Hi OFL :)
I -finally- found a light that will work for my tank, the daylight 6500k 10 watt one that you suggested! But all my plants died, so now I don't know what new ones I should get. I want some that will thrive with;
1 inch of just regular gravel
Any suggestions? I was thinking Anubias, but i'm afraid the light might fry them.
how much and how often are the water changes; 30-50% once a week, what is the source water used; Tap, additives; Aqueon Betta Conditioner 5ml and temp;77-79.
Okay :) I'm getting a good light tomorrow so that should help..
