    Yeah that's true.
If it was that easy it will get over produce

Form n size is harder to maintain
    Work with it first
If the color get out of hand u can always take the simple way out n cross it to marble

    Thing I'm going to try
1)Forster the egg to another male that have a nest.
-Slowly drop the egg under the male nest with a clear tub
    Down fall to this
    I might lost two spawn
Hard to get two pair to spawn at the same time
    Train my male
    To build up endurance
To be a more active fish/which I hope will become a more productive dad
    Down fall
    Will be come more aggressive
If these fail I'll go back to the drawing board

If giants were the same as regulars, then there would be no fun in exploring giants. LOL It's the challenge that gets the better of me - trying new ways to manipulate them.

I am currently faced with the choice of breeding for color, form, or size (my so called giants seem to be cross breeds or half giants). The better formed are small/regular. The bigger ones are either poor formed or I don't like the color. If I breed for form or color, I might lose the size. If I breed for size, I might lose the form and end up with traditional PK form.

Will let try out new method to find something to work
For sure a male giant can't eat all the egg
    If this spawn fail
I'll try fostering the egg with regular male to see if it work out

    The same hear
Have the white flag in one hand n the other setting up another tank to breed
Y can't the giant be the same as there smaller cousin

    hahahaha
I'm also thinking whether all this is worth the trouble? But in my case, I will always be curious if I haven't done it myself. I have to produce real giants .... then I might retire. Then again, who knows. I might just get fed up with them. (unlikely) LOL

Yes that seems to be their trend - bigger = lazy
I have this red drgn male, very hard to breed. Thus far he killed 3 females each in the breeding tank for about a day. They weren't torn up but he seems to have a "killer punch". I finally succeeded spawning him - artificially hatched the eggs. This was his fourth successful spawn. He ate the first 3. I just acclimated his fry into the grow out. Hope they survive.

Try using live plants as substrates so the male can't get to the eggs (you said he won't pick them up anyway). when they're done, take everything out - breeders and plants. Lower the water level then hope for the best. If they hatch, take out bad eggs or you could do OFL's method by putting in a pond snail to eat the bad eggs. Place some plants in and add old, infusoria water and feed like usual.

For some reason ALL of my breeders, giant and regular males ..... half giants (they're only 6-7 cm BO) .... are egg eaters.

Are u facing the same problem as I'm am.
I'm upping the look n size on the giant.
But as the same I'm facing with lazy hungry male.
My last 3 attemp on three different male.
The male will breed but will not pick up the egg unless he's eating them.

    I know what u mean.
To produce nice looking fish you can't keep the line pure.
But to sell them as is.

In my country cheap-expensive giants depends on who and where they were bred. Well known breeders and show player will sell them for a higher price compared to average breeder. And their giants aren't even TRUE GIANTS or the SUPER GROWERS. Problem is that ..... I'm not active in my local betta community so I don't know who's who. All I know is expensive and cheap giants. LOL

Fortunately for me giants are now being over bred so they're getting cheaper and cheaper. The problem is that I don't want to just get a fighter style giant. I want that SQ giant so I don't have to strain myself improving them. LOL ... I no longer have the energy.

Yeah I heard something like that to.
I think that's why true hmpk giant are a higher price then there counter part.
There a down fall to giant.
Only male can be cross to other gene.
