ok i seen your betta (very gorgeous BTW)

forget the filter, try to buy (or if you already have) bloodworms and wiggle them on top

another method is this:

get one pellet, dip it in the water just for a sec and sqeeze it hard (it hurts but it is worth it) and let it drop into the tank, if it sinks thats what it is supposed to do
