It may take him a while to get used to the company. When I first added my girls they chased the cories, tetras and shrimp for a while before settling down, even though they'd been sharing a tank with a ghost knife at the shop.
Be warned, though, it may take days, or it might not happen at all. :(

A lot of people have goldfish spawning in tanks, and they spawn like mad in ponds. Koi will spawn sometimes, too, but they generally only do it in mud-bottom ponds. Goldfish are so frisky they'll do it anywhere lol! Would Pascal, Parker, and Penelope be pearlscales? lol!

I couldn't even imagine having 100 fish! I'd rather have about 10-15 koi that I can easily recognize. I guess that's why I wanted koi over goldfish in a pond; koi are easier to tell apart! :p

Ponds have a very high startup cost. Let's just say it was my graduation present in lieu of a car... All of my little (well not really) koi babies have names. I've only got 6, and they are all very recognizable. I can actually tell you where most of them came from, too. Some of them are older than one of my cats.

Aww thanks! And my koi say "nom nom." Installing it was a lot of backbreaking work, but the upkeep is really low-maintenance. Less than a normal tank by far. The most I have to do is put a net up in the fall to prevent too many leaves from getting in the water. Aside from making sure the water level stays high enough and feeding the little monsters there isn't much else I do with it.
