Yep.. Seems like fish in awful conditions can put up quite the fight.. A member here had a betta live 7 years in a cold bowl with monthly water changes when she was young..

Threw it in a 20 gallon tank with paradise fish and convict cichlids.. It really had no reason to live that long. It died of dropsy in the end.
