Tank is ORDERED! I bought a 3 gallon Picotope. Going to replace the stock bulb since it's a bit actinic. Going to get a 9watt 6500k at Home Depot. Easy peasy. With that, I'll have 3watts per gallon, which will be sufficient for growing DHG. Moving one step at a time. At this rate, I should be ready for a betta fish by early February! I want everything to be perfect :) I've grown a liking to koi-colored bettas, but knowing me, I'll see one at my LFS and won't be able to leave him/her there. Im weak like that.

Oh, and of course I'll be rescuing a betta fish and he/she will inhabit this tank. Still debating on a few things... Should I choose a pretty one from the store? Reabilitate a sick betta? Rescue a baby betta? Or should I order one off of aquabid. They're all lives, so I'm of course not valuing one circumstance over the other. Although, unlike my last experience with betta fish (I had 8 tanks), I will only have 1 tank and 1 betta fish. So I'll have to think it through. I'll have about a month to weight my options while my plants grow in. :) :) :) (oh dear i have to update the "About Me" section.. I did that 5 years ago)

Once I get the money, I'll be setting up a 5 gallon, fully planted tank. It's going to be a simple iwagumi scape. Havent decided if i want just a full ground cover of dwarf hairgrass, or if i should encorporate some giant hairgrass in the back for some dimension. I'm in maine right now and surrounded by many beautiful rocks, so I'll try and look for a iwagumi-looking one for my tank (no worries, I know exactly how to test it and sanitize it). Very excited. I'm also getting a nice camera for christmas, so I'll be professionally documenting the process. Perhaps on this forum, or perhaps on a blog of some sort.

Hello, I'm back! With highschool stressing me out beyond belief, I stopped coming on this forum, and I also stopped adopting more betta fish. My last betta fish, Tasmin, recently died due to old age. I also enrolled in a lower stress highschool. These two events resparked my passion for betta fish and aquariums. I'm going to get my new tank in early 2016. It's good to be back :)
