I use a gallon jug when I change their water, so I can do that easily :]
Should I give him 100% water changes without the salt to keep it really clean? It'd be easy since I lowered the water to only a gallon.
Okay, I'll do that.
Nope, no other signs, he's just as brightly colored as ever. (every time I try to look at him to see what he's doing he just stops and stares at me, so I have to keep sneaking glances at him xD) He's a little better today, he's not going all the way over on his side, but still a little.
He has a bare-bottom Critter Keeper, and so far I don't see anything.
Okay, I will :) Thank you SO much for all your help!
How are you?
So sorry to bother you, but, my betta, Zen, has suddenly come down with SBD...It's the first time he's ever had it and he has it pretty bad. He keeps going sideways and is a little bloated. He's also having a bit of trouble swimming normally. I did a 100% water change, and lowered the water level in his tank to only a couple of inches deep. I knocked over all his silk plants so he can lay on them if he wants, and increased the water temperature to about 82F when I changed it. I'll fast him for a couple of days, too. Is that good enough for now? or should I go out and buy him some Epsom salt and give him some of that?
( I also have no idea how he got it..I only feed him 2 pellets once a day....)
Thank you so much! :)
Just a note expressing my respect even admiration for the time you spend with us new keepers. I always find some valuable tips and new information whenever I follow your posts, regardless of the topic. That 'emergency' post was excellent.
