Wow, you feed some of your pets 20 pellets a day?!

Is 5 pellets the daily minimum you would feed your pets too? How much would you feed a pet betta daily? I guess an average sized male...

Bamboo is fine as long as the leaves stay out of the water - leaves in the water tend to die quickly and foul it up. It is good to have it in the tank, no negatives that I know of.

Freeze dried are what you are wanting to feed every so often - once a week is good.
Frozen.. it depends on each company's freezing process. Sometimes the process can remove some of the nutrition.

Frozen bloodworms are fine to feed once a day or once every couple days - breeders will often use them for their females to get their bellies full of food that is similar to live food which will kick in the egging instinct.
I personally feed mine that aren't conditioning for breeding frozen food (different variety, but mainly bloodworms) once every 2-3 days as they are healthy, but pellets do offer a wider variety of vitamins and fibers.

Thanks for the info. I have lots of plastic aquarium plants in the tank now, and it looks great, but I have a spot for a live plant in the back. I had a piece of bamboo that looked like a palm tree there when the ADFs were in the tank, but I took it out and put it in their tank with them, since it was originally theirs. Is bamboo good, or useless, or harmful? As for the bloodworms, can he eat them daily, or only once a week? I've heard so many different stories...anywhere from once a day, to once a week, to only every two weeks because they have too much protein for a fish. I really appreciate the help!

Hi. I'm pretty new to the forum, and ran across some very knowledgable posts you'd written. Maybe you can help me. I have a male veil tail betta, Azure, who lives in a heated, filtered, 10 gallon tank. He has lots of artificial plants, and places to hide. He's very happy and social, and actually goes nuts when my son comes in the door from school. It's like Azure knows he's home, and he loves him. We're very attached to him, and want to make sure we're feeding him right. His tank setup came with Aqueon pellets, which he loves. He eats 4-5 tiny pellets in the morning, then when we feed our ADFs after school, he gets a few tiny, thread-like bloodworms. Is that too much food, too little, or just enough? He's a very active guy, and is so spoiled, that when I open the cover to give him bloodworms, he jumps out of the water. Very active fish. I've seen different info on how often and how many frozen bloodworms to give. Oh, and what is the best live plant for his tank? Thanks a bunch!

Oh yeah he really likes these...but the GPs at brineshrimpdirect.com have lower quality ingredients than the ones at kensfish...

But I got the 500-800 microns, which are the biggest ones they have...

So I got some Golden Pearls, but they are way tinier than I thought! 0.0 Do you feed them to any of your adult bettas and if so, how many per day?
