Some it will, some it won't.. I would stick with 5 per meal, 8 tops.. you can judge with your guy how he handles it. I feed mine throughout the day, rather than once or twice.

Yep.. some get that much some days.. not every day though - I usually will feed them pellets twice a day (around 10 or so) along with frozen or homemade or even live foods. But when I'm not conditioning them, or trying to get some size on them I'll toss in anywhere from 8 - 20 total.. they are big piggies at times. Have not had any issues with SBD, bloating or constipation. Like I said, it's not daily they get that much.. some days they do, other days they get less. The breeders tend to get more, as I keep them constantly conditioned almost.. that way I can set up a spawn whenever I want. Set up a breeding tank last night, and right now have eggs already from the pair I placed in because she was ready. Pets tend to get less though, closer to the 8-12 a day mark.

5 is fine :) Mine get anywhere from 8 - 20 a day (when fed pellets).. but they have been getting that for a couple years, etc and I split it up between lots of meals throughout the day. But over all, 5 a day is fine to feed.. it's enough to keep him from starving and it's enough to give him energy :) If you want, give him 5 in the morning and 2-3 at night... but otherwise, don't worry about it. Like I said, everyone has their own ways and it all depends upon each fish.

Is 5 pellets the daily minimum you would feed your pets too? How much would you feed a pet betta daily? I guess an average sized male...
