Thank you for responding in character, as it were, to my post on the disease thread (about parasites). That was very charming.

One time, my brother had to do a report on a country for 6th grade so he did S. Korea because of me (I'm adopted from there). He took kimchee in as an example of their native food. Just last month, we ran into an old classmate of his who said he still remembers the way that kimchee smelled. This was over 20 years ago! XD

That is pretty awesome Dubai has such diverse cuisine. We have a Moroccan friend who makes us some of her native food, although it's kinda hard because my mom is a vegetarian.

The first time I noticed I was allergic to curry was some curry Udon. Then I tried Thai curry and same thing. I'm not sure what to make of it and I haven't been brave enough to try Korean food in a long time. First and only experience with it was a little traumatic. I was 6 and the very first thing I bit into was a roasted pepper. >.< I think that and the kimchee scarred me for life. And ironically, I'm Korean.

I think it must be a specific ingredient in curry because every time I take a bite of someone else's curry, my tongue swells up. I like the taste of mild curry though. My brother loves it super spicy. Although I think he does it on purpose so he doesn't have to share with the rest of us.

Aside from the Indian restaurants, what other kinds of foods does Dubai have? I admit I don't know much about Dubai, cuisine-wise.

My mom does this to me frequently. She leaves Food Network or the Cooking Channel on half the night, I wander out around 1 AM and watch just enough to start drooling. :)

They say you could eat at a different place in NYC every day for every meal and still not eat at every restaurant they have. I believe it. My brother introduced us to a great little Ukrainian restaurant called Vesalka. I can't remember where it is, though, I'll have to look it up. Otherwise, I think he mostly eats Indian food because there are a lot of Indian restaurants by his apartment. I can't, I'm allergic to curry, which is a bummer.

Haha, I don't cook either. What's your favorite country for the food?

I've heard chocolate covered ants are considered a delicacy in some countries. Me, I'm just not seeing it. Ah, the food sounds good. The best part about traveling. :)

Haha, I can definitely see doing that in China. Cuts out the middleman, since all the products will be making their way out of the country anyway. I imagine things can get pricey in Dubai. How are the prices in Bangkok?

When my folks went to Hawaii they sat next to someone who always took one extra suitcase, totally empty, so they could shop and fill it up. :) Now that's a hardcore shopper!
