Sweet. If you can get clippings, take them. I can see how he'd spend so much money on plants. I know I spent waaaay more than I should have for my planted tank.

I was looking at one Fluval canister filter. It even has a built-in computer that keeps track of maintenance for you. Only $459. And oddly enough, it's only rated at 185gph even though it says tank size 40-80g.

When don't we need stuff from the LFS? Plants, fish, decorations . . . the fish are the cheapest part. What kind of canister filter do you think you're getting?

I suppose it's possible but that would be pretty unusual. You know how to tell a male and a female platy apart, right?

Tomorrow is big tank change day for me. I have to divide it up, little tanks one day, big tanks the next. Otherwise I get sick of lugging buckets around.

She's kind of pale orange with a black tail. Like this one.

I think she may have given birth a while ago because I thought I saw a fry in the plants. But if so, they all got eaten. :( No more fry for me since I don't have any males.

Yeah, my water is super soft because of the water softener but the pH is 8.0 or even higher. It's crazy. I think that's why my guppies and platies have all passed within months. Grr. My one remaining platy is pretty active though.

That's a good idea about the platies and sororities are really fun. Canister filters are supposed to be the best of the best so that's cool. It sounds like a good plan. Platies don't like my water, I think it's too soft for them.

Sigh, those poor poor fish. It's kind of irresponsible of the school to let them do a project with living animals. I mean, if they did a project with rabbits or hamsters, PETA would be all over the school.

Yup, I wanna know why you're going with the sorority.

Do fish shed . . . *facepalm* Those poor fish, God only knows what's going to happen to them when the project is over. If they're lucky, they won't live long enough to find out. Otherwise the school should build a pond and release all of them.

Yeah, solitaire, poker. I play a Japanese card game called Hanafuda too.

That's why I never could be a vet, the euthanization part. That and the math and chemistry. I know my vet adopts some animals that are offered up for euthanization. I think it's how she got most of her cats. You'd be a good vet because you would know about the exotic animals like birds and fish. It's hard to find vets for them sometimes. Although it's getting easier to find vets for birds and reptiles.

True, true. And the body functions are the same in animal or human, just located in different places. A liver works the same in a cow or a human.

I didn't know you wanted to be a vet but I'm not surprised. You'd make a good one because you like animals so much.

I play card games on my iPod too.
