Yeah. I believe one can go in a 5g too. You can put a pair in a 10g. But they can't be mixed with bettas because they're the same family, anabantids. They'll beat each other up. Both have the labyrinth organ and breathe air from the surface.

Maybe there's not enough light for the wisteria? I don't know. I stink with aquatic plants.

You could try blanched veggies. Spinach and romaine lettuce are good but sometimes you have to get a veggie clip to anchor them to the tank wall. You could also try weighting it down with a rock. I've read that they'll supplement their diet by eating plants, though. And don't worry, my wisteria doesn't like me much either.

That sounds like plenty of food. When she drops her spawn, cut back on the flakes for a few weeks since she'll be eating extra. Actually, since platies need a high veggie requirement in the diet, what I recommend is you feed her veggie flakes (I use Omega One Veggie Flakes but you could use Tetra VegMin) and then the one FD bloodworm a day. That would balance her diet out.

Cool. So you'll just let her eat them? If my platy ever has another spawn, that's what I'm going to do is just leave her in the community tank when she gives birth. Although at this rate I'm not sure if she's going to give birth again. She still won't eat.

Lucky you. You may need to set up a special tank just for fry, if she keeps having them. I'd guess you have maybe 2 or 3 more spawns coming your way in the next several months.

Thanks, I was thinking Hikari but I wanted to make sure. The fry are doing well, I still have 9, but I thought Pumpkin looked bloated, but I just remembered she's going to have babies again!

I used New Life Spectrum H20 wafers, which no one touched, and Hikari Algae Wafers. For only 3 otos, you probably only need to feed half a wafer at most. Once you drop those in there, the things dissolve and expand pretty fast and look reaaaallly nasty. You can also put some blanched veggies like zucchini and cucumber in there. Just microwave them for about 20 seconds or so, then put them in ice water for 1 minute to cool them down. Hopefully your otos will eat the veggies; mine never did. :p How are your platy fry? For some mysterious reason 4 of mine died so I only have 3 now.

I think I have 120 right now but it's a baffled hang on back aquatech 5-15. I think as long as your doing 50% weekly it should be okay but IF you wanna go higher then go for it.
