Hey there! Yeah, my tank finally cycled using the Dr. Tim's. But it took forever to get done. I liked it ok.

Did you ever successfully cycle a tank using Dr. Tim's ammonia? I just started today and had to put in over FIVE times as much as the directions say in order to get up to the 4ppm that I want.

I think I'll try food next time. Especially as I now have this Repashy gel food. It comes as a powder, perfect for decomposing in a tank without growing that funky bacteria. At least I think so.

New article by Byron Hosking on Stress and the Freshwater Aquarium. Thought you might like it.

What a wonderful declarative writer he is; the best on the forum. And a musician, too.

Yeah, it is a bit pricy but I don't mind since I don't have to worry about trying to find plain ammonia or if there are any hidden ingredients (I know it's unlikely but I'm paranoid!).

Saw your blurb on Amazon about Dr Tim's ammonia. Good catch. A little pricey, but I've already spent more than that on gas in a futile attempt to buy it locally. Let us know how it goes.

Wow, thank you! That's very kind of you to say. More kind of you to take the time to comment.

I have learned a lot from this forum & hope to be able to point others in the right direction.

If you're not learning, you're dead, right?

Nice clear straight-ahead advice I've seen from you. Well-written, as well. Welcome to the forum
