I have a betta with ick. I had him on API Super Ick cure for two days. The chemical stressed him and he lost all his color. There's still some ick on him and I don't think he can stand being in that poison any more. So I decided to move him to a kritter Keeper with a heater in it and some salt water. I put him in a small clip on breeder tank that I use for temperature acclimation, placed that in the kritter keeper that had one gallon of water with 1/2 a tsp of aquarium salt in it. Every hour, I poured half a shot glass of the salt water into the kritter keeper to acclimate him to the salt water. After the fourth addition of salt water, he immediately went to the bottom and began laying on his side, breathing heavy. I pulled him out of there and placed him in some fresh, treated water and after about 10 minutes, he started coming back and now he's swimming around. (cont..)

Sakura, do you know why a betta would have a pale white belly and move in jerky movements that look like bumping against the tank?

Yeah it is. The nesaea never grew for me. I would think lack of CO2 and enough ferts made it not grow good for me. I may get one bunch of it just to try it again. So I am thinking that I am just going to wait till after Christmas to redo the tank because then I might have the regulator and time to redo it. If i dont get the regulator I will just order it. So I will just be saving money for now.

Yeah saltwater would be fun, I would prefer a big tank only though, would be way more expensive... 500 mL is about $20 or so at AFA which is in Japantown. I still need to go there.
