I live in the Bay Area and I know our water is perfect for saltwater. So what ever saltwater is usually at that is what mine is, pH is around 8 lol. I think I will just get one dwarf flame. I love their colors!

Okay so I doubt I will be able to put the tank in the living room, unless when my ssister moves out I put the tank where her tv is by the window. It will be angled and have like a black background so it won't get any light till the sun is weak. It will be a nice piece of furniture.

How many of each fish can I get? Say neons or rummy, peppered cories, and with a flame gourami

I think dwarfs are pretty peaceful. If you only want one, I think that would be okay because gouramis aren't as social as other fish. Pitluvs only has one. I think the males would only fight if there was a female around and they got territorial but I could be wrong. For the snails, if your water is hard you should be okay without adding calcium. Actually even if it is soft, you should be relatively okay. For greens, whatever you feed the shrimp would work for the snails. Also pieces of lettuce or a piece of blanched cucumber.

You probably could adjust the flow on the filter. I know I can on my Fluval.

If you water is really soft and acid, you could even put a Bolivian ram in there instead of dwarf gouramis.

Ahh, they need slower water though, my Ehiem may pump out some water and also I want it to be like a little river, since there is an attachment to redirect water flow. Will it be fine?

Ahh okay, I will have to PM sometime, can't be that hard though. I just don't know if I have to add some calcium for the shell and provide greens.

The problem I see ii what if I get two males and they fight, though aren't they peaceful? Is it better to just have one or a pair? If one I won't worry about it.

Lupin is the snail guy here but it might be a few days before you get a reply. If you want to know about apple snails, ask Silverfang. She seems to know a lot.

I have seen dwarfs and honeys at my Petco/Petsmart although I can't vouch for their health. Especially at my Petsmart, they overcrowd them so much.

Alright, I will check Aquabid, hopefully shipping is not that much. I guess I have some information to read. Who is the snail person on here?

I wonder if I can do that with her? She is pretty white, my profile picture makes her a bit more yellowish. The problem I think is the dirt, the plants on that side don't get that much light, so they don't grow so fast.

I hope he does, he flares, just seems like his fins are clamped. Just not like always clamped.

If you can find a nerite, you're better off with one of those. They are the best algae eaters. Some apple/mystery snails eat plants. o.O Plus they won't breed like apple/mystery snails will. Check your nitrates; they can cause algae. I know hte feeling, have a big problem in my sorority. High nitrates might be why Kei isn't hungry?

Haha, it's always so funny when the bettas get a hold of a wafer. One of my girls is light-colored so I can see the actual wafer in her stomach.

Wood but line the bottom with plexiglass maybe? That way the condensation won't warp the wood.

Put an anubias or a java fern in that corner, if it doesn't get enough light. Or a crypt. Anything that does well with low light.

I hope Kei gets better. :( Poor Kei.

Yeah, and I just got a major algae outbreak. It is really thick. I put two pond snails in there so they can clean up. I may go and get an apple snail or mystery snail to have in there. Kei is driving me nuts, no idea what to do any more. If I can get him in a cup I will definitely do the salt treatment as I already have the salt.

The food won't be a problem, I have shrimp and females. One time I came home to find Rareity looking like a hatchet fish lol, she got one of the shrimp waffer pieces.

Yay! I am getting started on making the canopy. Though I am stumped on the material, wood or plexi glass.

I think that one spot in my tank sucks, everything I plant there melts, there is like one or two rotala stems that haven't melted and have rooted. May get more to help.

You do have live plants in Kei's tank, right? Hmm. Otherwise I'd say just dump the epsom right in there.

MTS are great for stirring up substrate but man, they do breed. o.O Be careful not to overfeed the tank because the more food in there, the faster the little buggers multiply.

I got some rotala indica at my Petco. Only plant left alive. I think I want more rotala, it seems to actually like my tank. Yay!

O guess that makes sense. I would put him in Epsom but I can never catch him now, don't know why all of a sudden he never wants in a cup. He has never even been in a cup for that long. One day is the longest.

I am gonna be getting some MTS on Sunday, the seller is in San Jose so he told me I can save money and go get them, plus some plants.
