Yeah, if you ever want to see videos about plants, ponds, different fish, go to Dustinsfishtanks on YouTube. That is where I learn so much stuff and he was one of the reasons I wanted to dirt my tank. I think Bee shrimp, like Crystals and Tigers would be a pain because they are super fragile and expensive lol.
Thanks Sakura! I want to get a subscription to the magazine, I just need someone's credit card lol.
I know with RO and deionized water, it's suggested to use a mineral supplement to put back the required minerals. In fact, since my water is crazy soft, I use Seachem Equilibrium in my planted tank to raise the GH from 0 to 3. Equilibrium works, so does Kent's R/O Right.
I'll keep an eye out for any more shrimp articles in my magazines. They usually do talk about them at least once every other issue, I think.
The good thing about shrimp, especially bees which do require RO, is that they don't like a lot of water changed at a time, they like 10-30% of their water changed, so you could just buy some RO or distilled water and it will last you for a while.
A fish tank/plant guy I watch on YouTube had a video on RO water, he was saying that the plants will actually do worse because their are no minerals for them to use. In the sorority, when I did a water change, the plants loved it and started pearling like crazy.
I need to do some more research on neos because I have really only read the section from that magazine.
Fortunately you aren't like 6 feet tall already so a twin should be okay for now. My brother was short to average in high school but amazingly, he had a growth spurt when he got into college and now he is like 6'2 or something like that. I just know that he is tall and it bugs the heck out of me. >.<
Everyone says it is the worst year, so I will see, hopefully they are wrong like many other years. Yeah, I just need to find out what soil I want to use, I heard that Fluvals is too light and doesn't really hold plants down very good. I am going to ask the people at the fish store what they would recommend as they do keep shrimp, i just need to know if they also keep them in RO water.
Yeah it is a small down grade for me as well since I have a full sized bed and the loft is twin but it does mean way more space for me, I just need to find out where I should put the stuff that is under my bed.
